Good Bye 2013!

So here it is, New Years Eve, Eve! Time to put the year in perspective and clear the slate for 2014! All in all it's been a good year. Nothing horrible has happened and we still have a roof over our heads and food on our table. I would say that in today's world that is quite a blessing! We have friends and family to be thankful for, our health appears to be good, and we are looking forward to a new life adventure
in 2014. What more could one ask?

In looking back over the year 2013 I would surmise to say we ate too much and walked too little; we complained too much and laughed not enough. We talked more than we listened, dwelt on the past and worried about the future. On the positive side, however...we agreed alot and argued little; we made plans for the future, and made peace with the past; we started removing the burden of material collections, and began collecting the memories they represent. The lighter our load gets materially, the richer we feel inside.

If you think our idea of downsizing to a motorhome is far fetched, you might be surprised at the trend toward 'tiny homes' that is gaining popularity. The trend of building huge homes in the 1990's and 2000's brought with it a huge mortgage and huge utilities. And it seemed like the majority of those being built were by empty nester's....which didn't make alot of sense, although they were the ones most able to afford and maintain them. The trend toward 'tiny homes' especially for singles and retired couples creates new possibilities for a comfortable life with no mortgage, or maybe only a 'tiny' one to match the home. Check out some possibilities at the links below.

After we finish with our travels in the motorhome, I expect we will plan to transition into a tiny stationery home, maybe in a tiny home community somewhere near a tiny town down south!

Till then, check out the tiny car we just purchased! It will fit inside our future  not so tiny motorhome which we have not yet purchased!

Happy New Year!
